Pre-Highschool
I started programming at the age of 5 with Visual Basic. I helped run a BBS in my local area, and then later was the co-sysop of a larger BBS. Being involved with the BBS scene made sure that I saw the onset and arguable peak of the demoscene. It is this that greatly influenced me, and it still to this day amazes me.
Highschool
In highschool, I honed my C and C++ skills and helped to push along a classmate who is a fellow computer science envisionary. In this era, I developed my Tetris program demonstrating the inner workings of a Windows application for the use of learning.
I was also a member of both the track and cross country teams, the latter of which I co-captained. I am a school record holder, along with three other great runners, in the 4 by 800 meter relay. I ended my running career by winning the team dedication awards in both sports during my senior year.
College
I am currently an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh where I am majoring in Computer Science. I am expecting my BS at the end of spring 2009. Currently, I have a GPA of 3.6 with 3.7 toward the Computer Science major.
Personal Interests
I try to maintain a diverse set of hobbies and pursuits. All programmers should know what it feels like to have a creative idea outside of the code. Practicing what I preach, I dabble in composing and literary writing. I also draw from time to time, but never that well. I am a sucker for running, and I try ever so hard to maintain running at least 40 miles a week. I am very sad that I do not run nearly as much as I used to do.
Programming Philosophies
All programmers have a distinct manner in which they think and operate. Only the very few will admit these things.
